Melody Towers

I designed the Melody Towers as part of the rapid prototyping class at Cornell University, with 2 other team members. I designed, prototyped, constructed, and integrated all of the mechanical aspect of this project, and the other 2 members implemented the electrical and programming aspects of the project.

Printer
Player

The Melody towers is composed of two machines – the printer and the player. The printer takes input from the piano and produces markings on paper. The player takes in the printed paper and play the notes back on the built-in speaker. Motivation for this project comes from the difficulty many people face in learning the traditional music notation. These machines enable people without the skill of traditional music notation to be able to record their music with the printer, and to play it back on the player.
